“Ní piseog ná scéal atá ann…”

An atmospheric, bilingual horror inspired by Sheridan Le Fanu’s novella, Carmilla (1872). Devised for the stage, this work reimagines Le Fanu’s seminal Gothic tale by twisting it through the lens of the folk and fairylore of his native country.

“Ireland. The mid 1800s - a society caught between science and superstition. Josephine, the daughter of the local landlord, lies weakened in a hushed room. Her father is a rational man, yet all his power cannot protect her from mysterious, devastating attacks.

The watchful servants are disinclined to share what they know. As Josephine's life drains away, these women are torn between saving a life and risking their livelihood to name what it is they fear: an ancient horror that haunts their home.”
